Social housing: Steps to simplify loan processing procedures: Tarin


ISLAMABAD: Finance Minister Shaukat Tarin said on Monday that steps were being taken to facilitate the process of disbursing loans for the low-cost housing program, as well as increased access and transparency.

The finance minister said so while chairing a meeting on social housing on Monday.

Chairman Naya Pakistan Housing and Development Authority (NAPHDA), Lt. Gen. Anwar Ali Hyder (Retired), Governor SBP and other senior officers attended the meeting.

At this follow-up meeting, President NAPHDA shared the place to mark progress on low-cost housing proposals. Various issues raised in this regard have been resolved in consultation with the SBP. Also, it was shared that awareness campaigns by lending banks on home loans are ongoing.

The Minister of Finance assured that the performance of the banks is being thoroughly monitored in this regard for greater facilitation to the public and that the necessary measures are taken to facilitate the process of loan disbursement as well as access and increased transparency.

Naya Pakistan Low-Cost Housing: SBP notifies some changes

Governor SBP shared the citizen feedback mechanism put in place to provide information to the public and handling complaints.

He also shared relevant bank concerns about low-cost housing loans.

The Minister of Finance took note of this and made sure to resolve the legitimate concerns as soon as possible.

President NAPHDA thanked the Federal Minister for smooth, efficient and faster facilitation of NAPHDA to provide low cost houses to the masses.
