The Punjab National Bank (PNB) on Friday opened its first centralized loan processing center (CLPC) in Haryana at Bank Square, Sector 17-B, Chandigarh.
Inaugurated by CEO and Director General (PNB) Sunil Mehta, CLPC is part of the Union Government’s Improving Access and Service Excellence (EASE) initiative in the part of a responsible and responsive bank.
Speaking on the occasion, Mehta said that as part of the overall transformation exercise of the bank’s “PARIVARTAN” vision, the CLCS model and framework was conceptualized at PNB.
He said that, in accordance with the EASE program, the emphasis has been on a strict separation of roles and responsibilities before and after sanction for better accountability.
Mehta further stated that the CLCS will function as an independent support and workplace comprising a credit processing unit and a credit monitoring unit with primary responsibility for pre-sanction assessment, sanction and follow-up. effective post-sanction or monitoring of loan accounts exceeding Rs. 50 lakh.
CLPC will receive leads from its related branches and with CLPC Chandigarh, all PNB branches in Chandigarh and Panchkula will be linked. Mehta also visited the Institute for the Blind, Sector 26, Chandigarh and donated dresses to students of the School for the Blind as part of the Bank’s CSR activity.
While addressing schoolchildren, he assured them of all possible PNB help for their education as well as other possible needs.
