Mumbai: Mortgage lender LIC Housing Finance Ltd announced the inauguration of its refurbished back office in Guwahati, aimed at reducing processing time for mortgage applicants while improving customer comfort.
LIC Housing said it will be at the forefront of serving clients in North East India with minimal need for face-to-face interaction and physical visits to the offices. The lender said it launched its digital transformation in October 2020 through Project Red. Among the various initiatives deployed so far, is the mobile application of the real estate loan solution of the company “HomY”. Over a million downloads have been made so far and the company has approved approximately ??12,000 crore in loans received through the HomY app, he said.
According to the statement, Guwahati’s back-office processing will take advantage of Project Red’s tools in conjunction with the âHomYâ app to ensure delivery of the entire mortgage service to the customer’s home. The existing customer base under Guwahati’s back office is around 17,000 with an exceptional portfolio of over ??2,100 crores.
Y Viswanatha Gowd, Managing Director and Managing Director of LIC Housing Finance, said that in a rapidly changing world, clients increasingly prefer digital transactions.
