New tariff plan
The company’s four-year pricing plan, unanimously approved by the Florida Public Service Commission in October 2021, comes into force on January 1, 2022. The plan unifies the rates and tariffs of FPL and Gulf Power and supports FPL’s continued long-term investments in infrastructure, clean energy and innovative technologies, including the largest solar building in the United States. For FPL and Gulf Power customers, the settlement agreement implements a bridging / credit mechanism to settle these differences in a reasonable manner for all customers. The bridging rider / credit will fall to zero over a five-year period, at which time rates would be fully aligned by January 1, 2027.

Under this plan, the typical residential 1,000 kWh FPL bill is expected to remain well below the national average and among the lowest in Florida until 2025. For customers of Northwest Florida, the bill for a typical residential customer of 1,000 kWh is expected to decline over the next four years.
