BOWLING GREEN, Ky. (WBKO) — The deadline to apply for FEMA or a U.S. Small Business Administration loan has been extended to March 14, 2022.
Tornado survivors can apply for federal assistance in person at the FEMA Disaster Recovery Center where you can file your SBA application or go ask an SBA representative questions.
If you go to the disaster recovery center, you will need to bring your ID with any information about your business or home.
For those who have already received a response and possibly received a denial letter, SBA says you can go to the disaster recovery center to make sure there are no errors.
“For homeowners and business owners, you don’t need to wait for your insurance to settle, please start your SBA application as soon as possible. I can’t stress this enough. If you’re waiting until the last minute or the settlement of your insurance, it is possible that the deadline has already passed. assistancecatastrophe.gov and register with FEMA. If FEMA refers you to SBA, go ahead and start your application. You don’t have to wait for insurance to settle in to begin your SBA application process,” says Tauheedah Mateen, public affairs specialist in the Office of Disaster Assistance at SBA.
