Brillient called in by SBA with contract for loan processing increase

RESTON, Virginia, May 21, 2020 / PRNewswire / – The coronavirus (COVID-19) outbreak in United States was declared a national emergency, beginning March 13, 2020. Additional funds were recently made available to the SBA through its various congressional loan programs under the passage of the CARES Act. These funds will support businesses during this time of economic challenge resulting from the pandemic crisis and have resulted in a sharp increase in loan processing workload.

The Office of Disaster Assistance (ODA), SBA, provides victims of natural disasters with United States (including Porto Rico and other American possessions) with access to low-interest loans. The aim of the program is to enable borrowers to resume their lives and / or normal activities as soon as possible after a disaster.

Brillient Corporation has been called upon to provide support for loan processing and disbursement functions for the SBA’s disaster lending program. This work was authorized under a new order with a maximum value of approximately $ 125 million total for the base and all option periods. Brillient to add approximately 500 loan processing professionals provide support to all states and territories in the United States, six days a week.

“We are honored to help the SBA and the US small business community deal with this national economic crisis,” said Paul Strasser, CEO of Brillient.

“Brillient has been a partner of the SBA since 2008. We are delighted to answer the call to arms to help small businesses amid this unprecedented crisis,” said Sukumar Iyer, Founder and Executive Chairman.
